KIRKLAND, Wash, and TEL AVIV Israel, April 14, 2022IONIX, a cybersecurity leader in external attack surface management (EASM), announced today that it has been named as a Representative Provider offering attack surface assessment (ASA) capabilities in a 2022 Gartner® report entitled “Innovation Insight for Attack Surface Management.” 1 . According to the Gartner report:

“Organizations have to manage a growing attack surface as their technological environments become increasingly complex and dispersed, both on-premises and in the cloud, and involve containers, the Internet of Things and cyber-physical systems. SaaS applications and supply chain touch points also present new attack surfaces”. The report further states, “new ways of visualizing and prioritizing management of an organization’s attack surface are required as enterprise IT becomes more dispersed, owing to the expansion of public-facing digital assets and increased use of cloud infrastructure and applications.”

“We are very pleased to be named as a Representative Provider in this Gartner report,” said Ben Kapon, VP Marketing at IONIX. “It is critical that all security vulnerabilities are visible internally so that organizations can establish a strong security position. IONIX’s platform continuously performs discovery and vulnerability assessments on all of the enterprise’s external-facing assets, connections and third party platform dependencies to provide security teams with clear indications of what threats are the highest priority and how to stop them.

Alongside this, Gartner recently cited ‘Attack Surface Expansion’ and ‘Digital Supply Chain Risk’ in its  Top Trends in Cybersecurity 2022 2. In our opinion, combined, these two trends underline IONIX’s approach that direct third party connections are only the first step in the digital supply chain.
